02Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground pork, pork fat, ginger, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, chicken powder, and white pepper powder. Mix well until the filling is sticky and well-combined.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with beaten egg. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, then bring the two corners together and seal to form a traditional wonton shape.
- Heat the vegetable oil to 175°C (350°F) in a deep pot or wok.
- Carefully place wontons into the hot oil in batches, ensuring they don't stick together. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the fried wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Arrange the fried wontons on a serving plate. Drizzle with chili oil and garnish with fried shallots if desired.
